I'm having a little trouble! How on earth, as christians, are we supposed to follow all the things Jesus wants us to? I know that to be saved we believe in him. Right, ok. But it just seems the more I read or learn, there is just so much a christian should do...be an active part of your church, community, share christ with others, love your neighbours and enemies, forget earthly wealth/matters... I can't even keep it all straight in my mind, let alone DO them. I have a chronic Illness which means i struggle with day to day things, so Im becoming stressed about all these things. I know i don't need to do them to be saved, but having BEEN saved i just want to do so much to show my love.... Does anyone have any suggestions? |

Hi,
Sounds to me like you already have the answer :) As you said, being saved you WANT to do so much. Personally I don't believe that God wants us to complicate things nearly as much as we do. I think what you said there about wanting to show your love is exactly what God intended. Don't worry about whether you're doing enough or obeying every "rule". Don't get hung up about "forgetting earthly wealth" to the point where you feel that you have to make your own existence uncomfortable. But, if God tells you to help someone in need, do so and don't let your desire for earthly wealth stop you from blessing that person. Don't get hung up about being an active part of your church. Go to church because you want to be among other christians and then if God tells you to do something there, then do it because it's an opportunity to show your love.
I think the key is to be willing, rather than to try and be perfect. If you're willing, God will show you what the next thing is He wants you to deal with/take on.

Rachel,
Let me put your mind at ease sister. I am not a Christian in the sense that you understand, however I do believe in Jesus christ (PBUH) and love him dearly. Let me share a verse with you from the holy Qur’an, chapter 2, verse 286:
On no soul doth God place a burden greater than it can bear. It gets every good that it earns, and it suffers every ill that it earns…
Furthermore; understand that God will not do even an atom’s weight of injustice. God says in the Qur’an, in Surah 50, verse 29, the meaning of:
... I do not the least injustice to My servants.
Also, in Sura 7, verse 157, it says the meaning of: …My mercy embraces all things.
So you see Rachel, God will NOT burden you with something you can not handle. He will test you with some difficulties for sure, but that’s how you grow in spirituality and become a better / stronger human being when you show patience and perseverance whilst at the same time being steadfast in your belief.
Fadi.

If it is not truthful and not helpful, don’t say it. If it is truthful and not helpful, don’t say it. If it is not truthful and helpful, don’t say it. If it is truthful and helpful, wait for the right time.
Pride is concerned with who is right. Humility is concerned with what is right.
