i am new to any type of forum sites, so here goes! i am a seeker, like everyone else, searching for the meaning of life! bought up a christian, in a very conservative environment,i naturally rebelled, and searched for god in many ways..not all good for my personal growth, but nothing i regret! the anger i felt for the church has gone, but i no longer believe that a god of love, would punish the"non-believers" to endless damnation! and as for being only ONE way, i no longer believe in such a narrow, heartless view.
if god is a god of love, then he/she is so much bigger than our mindsets;our narrow, judgemental, vengeful thoughts.
i will continue to seek....would like to hear from any of you!
may your days bring you blessings

Oops! Sorry about that "myworld",

I also am new to forums and the likes. Great to hear from you,I can relate somewhat to your journey. I found myself in a similar situation to you, 14 years of searching, after I stepped out of church. Whilst my thoughts remained on the creator it was the longing to know the "truth" that burnt deep inside of me. I wanted answers and I undertook the task to look in all directions, all religious lines (atheism included) but particularly what "christian" culture misunderstood as time marched by.

As we go thru life, seeking, we tend to get bits and pieces from all different points of view and form our opinion based on this. We draw
from our experiences, family, culture, books & movies etc and build
a philosophy from these areas in which we base how we live our lives.

Unfortunately, we usually only take on board the things we are most comfortable with (what we like)this leaves us with a dilemma because we then lead our lives by subjective experience rather than objective
truth.

I find one of the biggest probs. with Christianity relates to just this issue - if their is a god then what are his attributes and what
does he have to say to us. If he is knowable then he must want to have relationship with his creation otherwise what is the point of it all.

Incredibly, science & the great scientific minds & philosophers of
more recent times are starting to conform to the principles of created order by "someone" rather than order coming from kaos/nothing.

I, like your brave approach and I agree with you, god must be bigger than "our mindsets" - I also believe god is LOVE.

Would you like to delve deeper into this stuff with me, if so I eagerly await your reply as a "seeker'

Kind regards
Tony from Oz
